Forms for the Special Public Works initiated by the Federal Government is to be Distributed next week, Abuja Business Reports can authoritatively report.
The Chairman of the Kogi State selection committee for the Special Public Works, Mr Afolabi Raji stated this in Lokoja shortly after a meeting of the committee which was held at the banquet hall, government house.
Mr Raji said twenty one thousand forms would be made available and freely distributed across the 21 Local Government Area of Kogi State after it has been inaugurated by Governor Yahaya Bello.
According to him, each Local Government will be entitled to one thousand forms emphasising that stakeholders including religious organisation, market women, youths organisations and other interest groups would be carried along.
He said the initiative is to assist an average Nigerian who is Willing to work noting that the excercise would start from October till December this year.
In a remark, a one time Chairman of Okene Local Government Area, Abubarkar Karaku, said the committee would strictly adhere to the guidelines instituted by the Federal Government for its distribution.
Similarly, the state Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, Bishop John Ibenu noted that the established process for its distribution is satisfactory and enjoined youths to embrace entrepreneural skills to earn a living.
Also speaking at the occasion, the representative of the state chapter of the National Youths Council of Nigeria, Comrade Benjamin Ojodale expressed appreciation to president Muhammadu Buhari for creating the avenue and appealed for the extension of the program to cushion the effect of the pain inflicted on the people who lost job due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
