SA Diaspora Lauds Imo Diasporan Athlete, Kelechi Iheanacho for Outstanding Sports Performance

Kelechi Iheanacho scored twice and provided an assist as Leicester City secured a 4-0 victory over Sporting Braga in Thursday’s Europa League game.

Kelechi is a well established player who has continuously shown brilliance at what he does in the sporting world. The forward has now been involved in five goals in two Europa League starts for the King Power Stadium outfit in the current sporting event.

Imo State Special Adviser (SA) Diaspora Affairs to the state Governor, Hon. Cllr. Celia Osakwe-Hibbert in a recent zoom meeting with the Imo Diasporan athlete, was full of praise stating that his performances would go a long way to inspiring young aspiring Imo football players.

The Special Adviser on Diaspora to Governor Hope Uzodinma implored the global super star to key into the 3R initiative, targeting the ‘recovery’ of aspirations for Imo youngsters using Sports as a platform.

Abuja Business Reports can authoritatively report that Iheanacho is extremely happy to know that serious efforts are being made to engage athletes like himself in Diaspora.

In his word, “I grew up playing football in Imo, now that I’m in this position, I’ll be more than willing to support any serious initiatives that will offer football opportunities to young Imolites at home”.

SA Diaspora wished the great Imo Diaspora Athlete well as he prepares to play for Nigeria on the 13th of November 2020.

Hon. Cllr. Osakwe-Hibbert prayed that “Kelechi and his national team mates will come out of the game victorious.”

Diaspora Athletes Engagement Initiative is a current agenda the Imo Diaspora Office has been seriously working on, and needless to say that it is gaining credible momentum.
